Emerging from Helsinki, Finland, Thoth is a Finnish–Uruguayan heavy metal band blending raw power with ancient mysticism. Founded by Carla Arrieta, the band channels esoteric themes and ritualistic energy, combining profound lyrics with commanding rhythms. Fronted by Erik Anpu’s haunting vocals, Thoth delivers a transcendent auditory experience.

Lorena Carla, known simply as Carla, began her musical path in her early teens, inspired by bands such as Metallica, TOOL, Black Sabbath, Candlemass, and Entombed. She started out playing bass guitar and drums before moving into composition and production.

In 2006, she wrote, composed, and produced her first recognized work, “Stain”, for the Finnish band April—marking the beginning of her multifaceted journey in music.

She later joined forces with Erik Anpu, former vocalist for cult underground bands Ad Divinum and Gomorrah, along with Ziriel, a vocalist-guitarist with roots in Iberian metal collectives, and Akhtur vocals and drums. The lineup was completed when Nekht joined as a tenor vocalist.

Together, they form Thoth — a cult underground band merging esoteric philosophy, heavy metal, and ritualistic artistry into a singular, enigmatic vision.

In an era of digital overexposure, Thoth maintains a strict silence. By intentionally eschewing social media, the members ensure their focus remains solely on the purity of their craft. There are no distractions—only the ritual. To find Thoth, one must look beyond the screen and into the shadows where the music breathes.
